WIRES

A set of generative artworks inspired by the idea of connectivity and hierarchy occurring in nature.

The main reference for this work was a mycelium network, which acts like a wiring system, transferring nutrients to plants and trees and, presumably, even electrical impulses, similar to how our nerves transmit signals or how human-made wires carry electricity. Unlike electrical wires, however, natural structures are sort of “intelligent”, as they are able to respond to the environment, grow, adapt and "decide" how to allocate resources.

Wiring systems are something that is tend to be hidden both in human world and in nature, while performing one the most crucial tasks — connecting elements to one another. The essential role of these connecting structures in every aspect of life leaves room for imagination about the existence of other hidden networks that humans don’t know about yet.
